We have route mapping software to give us the most efficient journey possible. This will save fuel and reduce our carbon footprint.

The equipment we collect is carefully loaded onto our vehicle to reduce the possibility of damage.

Every item that has identifying tags or tattoos will have them removed during the assessment phase. Further product cleansing is done during the testing phase to ensure the anonymity of the company it originated from.

How we make free computer recycling work as a business

Reducing our carbon footprint

Twice a month we send out a newsletter to all our customer who have signed up for it. If you wish to join the list, please go to our “Contact Us” page and click “Sign Me Up”. This newsletter also includes a calendar showing the days we will be in certain areas in the UK. For the published calendar, we collect only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from pre-booked customers. We collect from all other areas of the UK on Thursday and Friday depending on quantities. We use route mapping software to plot the most efficient journey possible. This will save fuel and reduce our carbon footprint.

Taking care of what we collect

The equipment we collect is carefully loaded onto our vehicle to reduce the possibility of damage. We wrap our screens to protect them and place other smaller items into our crates.

Making use of the equipment

Everything we collect is unloaded into a quarantine area and is sorted and assessed. Every item that has identifying tags or tattoos will have them removed during the assessment phase. Further product cleansing is done during the testing phase to make it completely impossible to identify the company the equipment came from. This involves the reset of the BIOS and firmware flashing.

Helping us to continue to offer a free service

It is important to note that we are a self-funded company, we do not have charity status or investors. We completely rely on the equipment we collect to have some residual value in it. We try to avoid charging customers for collections but in some cases the equipment we are asked to collect will cost us to recycle and a small charge will need to be applied. Our downstream recycling partners do not offer a free recycle service and in order to be compliant ourselves we need to use UK based AATFs (Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities)
